Global Scope

Pure offsets without local resilience benefits
Projects without a clear urban or community nexus
Proposals lacking basic safeguards or data privacy considerations
Purely academic research without implementation pathway
Activities inconsistent with climate justice principles
Key Considerations
- •Early-stage startups can apply for Pilot Grants with demonstrated MVP
- •City partners do not need to be fully confirmed at concept note stage, but partnerships should be under active discussion
- •For-profit entities can receive grants if their project aligns with climate resilience and public benefit objectives
- •Multiple organizations can apply as a consortium with a designated lead applicant
Living City Initiatives
A limited number of long-term partners — Supernature Labs, Supernature Panama, and Bioplanning Institute — are designated as Living City Initiatives. These programs:
- •Create standards, reference projects, and financing models used across the grant portfolio
- •Demonstrate regenerative climate solutions at district scale
- •Provide verified outcomes that support future investment
Participation in Living City Initiative tracks is by invitation due to their governance and capital structuring complexity.
